How do i get a quote?
The easiest way is to get in touch via the contact form, email or phone. A brief description of the job is helpful, and photos are even better — they often give a much clearer picture of what’s involved and help me give you a more accurate quote quickly.
Is the quote free?
Yes, quotes are free. There’s no obligation and no charge for providing a quote, whether it’s based on a description, photos or a visit.
Will i know the cost before work starts?
Yes, always. You’ll receive a clear quote before any work begins. If anything unexpected comes up during the job, I’ll let you know straight away before carrying out any additional work.
How do you charge – by the hour or by the job?
It depends on the work. Smaller or straightforward jobs are usually priced as a fixed price for the job. Larger or more complex jobs, or Home Fix Visits, may be priced differently. I’ll always be clear about how the work is being priced in the quote.

What kind of jobs do you take on?
A wide range — home repairs and fitting, flat-pack assembly, minor plumbing and maintenance, decorating and making good, outdoor repairs and garden jobs. If you’re not sure whether a job is something I can help with, just ask. The full list of services is on the Services page.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Small jobs are welcome — there’s no minimum job size. If you have several smaller jobs, a Home Fix Visit can be a cost-effective way to get them all sorted in one go.
Do you supply materials?
It depends on the job. For some jobs I’ll supply the materials needed; for others it may be more practical for you to purchase them directly, particularly if there are specific products or finishes you’d like. I’ll always be clear about this in the quote.
Will you leave the work area tidy?
Yes, always. I work tidily and leave everything clean when the job is done. Your home is treated with care and respect throughout.
Home Fix Visits
What is a Home Fix visit?
A Home Fix Visit is a half-day or full-day booking where I come and work through a list of jobs around your home in one visit. It’s ideal if you have several repairs, fitting jobs or maintenance tasks that have been building up — rather than arranging multiple separate appointments.
How many jobs can be done in a Home Fix visit?
It depends on the jobs involved. A half-day visit (up to 4 hours) can typically cover several smaller tasks. A full-day visit allows for more jobs or more involved work. When you get in touch, share your list and I’ll give you a realistic idea of what can be covered.
Who are Home Fix visits best suited to?
They’re popular with homeowners who have a backlog of jobs, landlords with end-of-tenancy or pre-let maintenance lists, letting agents managing multiple properties, and busy households who want everything sorted in one efficient visit.

What areas do you cover?
Nick’s Home Repairs is based in Sevenoaks and covers Sevenoaks and surrounding villages across West Kent. Work in nearby areas may also be considered depending on the job — get in touch to check if I cover your location.
How quickly can you come out?
Availability varies depending on current bookings. Get in touch and I’ll let you know the earliest available slot. For urgent jobs, it’s always worth asking — I’ll do my best to help where I can.
Do you work weekends?
I work Monday to Friday as standard. Saturday appointments may be available by arrangement — get in touch to discuss if weekend availability is important to you.
